What Jobunter collects, where it is kept, who else touches it, and how long we hold it. Jobunter is in a small private beta, so this describes a product being tested with a handful of invited people.

What we collect, and why
Nothing here is sold, and nothing is shared with employers. Your Passport is never visible to anyone else.
- Your Passport
- Country of residence, citizenships, the roles you are looking for, your skills, which hiring arrangements you would accept, and whether you want remote work. Optionally: time zone, languages, salary expectations, years of experience, seniority, industries, certifications, places you would or would not work.
- This is what each job is checked against. Without it we cannot tell you whether a listing could hire you.
- Your CV, if you upload one
- The file itself, and the facts read out of it. Uploading is optional and always has been — typing your skills in by hand is treated as an equal path, not a lesser one.
- To save you typing. Nothing read from a CV affects your matches until you confirm it.
- What you are pursuing
- Jobs you save, jobs you clicked Apply on, the status you set for each, your notes, and the history of those changes.
- It is your record of your own job hunt. Everything in it is what you told us — we cannot see inside an employer’s system.
- Account and security activity
- Your email address, and a log of sign-ins, failed sign-in attempts, password changes and sign-outs, each with the network address it came from.
- So you can see activity on your own account and spot anything you did not do. It is shown to you at Settings → Security.
- How the product is used
- Events such as a search being run, a job being viewed, or a status being changed — with the account they belong to.

Where it is stored, and who else handles it
These are the only companies that touch your data. There are no advertisers and no data brokers.

Your CV is only sent to OpenAI if you tick the consent box when uploading it. That box starts empty, and the upload is refused without it. You can use Jobunter completely normally without ever consenting — type your skills in instead, and nothing about your CV leaves our database.
How long we keep it
- Your CV files
- Until you delete them, or 30 days after you close your account
- Your Passport and tracker
- For as long as your account exists
- Reports you file about a job
- 12 months after the report is resolved
- Usage events
- 24 months
- Job listings themselves
- Kept indefinitely — they are public adverts, not personal information
Your choices
- Delete anything, or everything. You can delete a CV file at any time from your CV page. To close your account, go to Settings → Your data. It happens straight away, you do not need to ask us, and nobody reads a request first. Copies inside our backups cycle out within 30 days.
- Refuse CV parsing. Never tick the consent box and no CV text is ever sent outside our database.
- See your own security activity. Settings → Security lists recent sign-ins and changes on your account.
- Take a copy of everything we hold. Settings → Your data downloads one file with your Passport, your CV files themselves, every job you tracked and your security log. You do not have to ask anyone. We count that a download happened, so we know the feature is used; we do not keep a copy of the file.
Things Jobunter never does
- We never sell your data, and there is no advertising in Jobunter.
- We never share your Passport, CV or tracker with employers. They cannot see you.
- We never apply to a job on your behalf, and never email an employer for you.
- We never claim you applied to something. Clicking Apply opens the employer’s own page and we record only that you went — you tell us what happened after that.
